Established in 1986, Marvol is a group of privately-owned companies with business interests in various sectors, such as hospitality and tourism, real estate, technology, wine and spirits, in addition to art and culture. The Group manages a global portfolio of companies in South Africa, the Middle East, Georgia and Switzerland.

In recognition of South Africa’s tremendous potential for tourism, the Marvol Group started investing in the country’s hospitality and tourism industry as far back as 1994. The acquisition of a wine estate in Stellenbosch lead to further investment in South Africa’s fast growing premium wine and spirits industry.
Wine & Spirits
For more than 25 years, the Marvol Group has been investing into production of premium South African wines and spirits which are sold to local and international customers. Through its holdings in Shiffar Investments, the Marvol Group is also producing and marketing a portfolio of premium wines and spirits in the Middle East.
Real Estate
Through its subsidiaries, the Marvol Group owns and manages a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties in South Africa, the Middle East, Georgia and Switzerland. It applies its extensive real estate experience and expertise to locate, develop, renovate, rent and sell properties in various markets.
Technology
The Marvol Group is involved in the development and production of electronic systems and is continuously seeking for investment opportunities in technology start-ups. The Group is currently investing in an innovative medical devices company.
Art & Culture
The Marvol Group owns a vast collection of European and South African art and decorative items, which can be found on display at Marvol’s offices and other commercial and residential real estate. In addition, the Group runs a support programme and offers residency opportunities to international and local South African artists.
